Royal Truck and Trailer Sales is the only dealer in Michigan to offer rim polishing with the VisPolish system

What is VisPolish?

VisPolish is a robotic aluminum rim polisher.

What is rim polishing?

Aluminum truck rims come with a mirror finish when they are new. Over time they become oxidized, pitted and scratched (a dull grey color) To restore their original finish they must be polished.

Why do truck owners want to keep their rims polished?

  • Safety – oxidized rims camouflage cracks, polished rims show dangerous defects.
  • Pride – a well polished truck communicates the pride of its owner / operator.
  • Resale – a well polished truck demands a higher price on the resale market.

Can previously unpolished rims be polished?

Yes, previously unpolished rims can be polished to a mirror finish;
it just takes a little more effort.

Does polishing a rim damage it?

No. The thin layer of material removed from a rim during polishing
will not affect the strength or performance of an aluminum rim.

Can all rims be polished to a mirror finish?

Yes. Aluminum rims with deep pitting or stone damage can be sanded smooth enough to be polished. But more pre-sanding effort is required.

How often should vehicle operators get their rims polished?

Tire change intervals are the best time to get rims polish. Polishing at tire change intervals assures the old rims can be properly inspected before new tires go on. The overall effect of new rubber on polished rims is also very appealing. Infrequent polishing increases the polishing effort required to produce a mirror finish.
